Band Lineup 2023
Get to know more about the bands this year. We will keep on releasing new acts as we get closer to the event.

High On Grass
One of Sweden's oldest bluegrass bands that has been around for many years. The lead singer has a typical tenor voice that characterizes the style, and this seasoned band will give you a classic bluegrass experience. High On Grass is inspired by the first pioneers of the genre - Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, Seldom Scene, and more.

Carro Anderberg
The singer/songwriter from Dalsland whose influences are firmly rooted in country/americana. Carro writes her own songs with great focus on the text and accompanies herself on the guitar. With her love for Americana, the contacts with Swedish bluegrass and country musicians have been constantly present over the years. It will be stripped down and intimate, but her powerful voice will stir your emotions.

Lowlife Brotherhood
When North Carolina native Rick Hauchman first moved to Copenhagen, he soon found himself playing and jamming with local members of the bluegrass community, and it didn’t take long before a small select group found themselves staying and picking together after everybody else had gone home for the night. The group soon shared ideas about starting a band, and from that idea, Lowlife Brotherhood found its form. Coming from backgrounds in both bluegrass, oldtime, and traditional Danish and Irish music, the members share a passion for the hard-driving bluegrass sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and the modern sound of 21st century bluegrass that is now the backbone of the Lowlife Brotherhood sound.

Heart of Mine
We are happy to present two of Europes most beautiful voices in country and bluegrass music. Heart of Mine is a newly formed folk/pop duo from Gothenburg consisting of Angelina Lundh and Mikael Grund. The two members have been playing together since 2013 in the bluegrass band Dunderhead, which has won European World of Bluegrass and has several tours of the USA and Europe under their belt.
Angelina and Mikael’s emotive vocals and heartfelt songwriting, combined with their impressive musicianship, create a captivating live performance that is not to be missed. Drawing on their rich history in bluegrass music, they seamlessly blend their own original material with classic bluegrass and country songs in a way that feels both authentic and modern.
So come on down to the Haga Bluegrass Street Festival and experience the magic of Heart of Mine for yourself. It's a performance you won't want to miss!

The Original Five
During their eleven active years, The Original Five have come to establish themselves as one of Europe's most sought-after bluegrass bands. Own material is mixed with traditional bluegrass, more well-known, crowd-pleasing country tunes and musical excursions into both jazz, folk music and gospel.
Spontaneous and warm audience contact, genuine joy of playing, deep respect for the bluegrass tradition and desire for experimentation are playfully mixed into a musical journey across the Atlantic and back.
During their career, The Original Five have released four of their own studio albums and a live album in collaboration with a Swiss chamber orchestra, the fifth studio album is expected to be released in 2023. They have toured extensively and performed several hundred gigs, apart from in Sweden in e.g. Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark and of course in the USA, the homeland of bluegrass.

Treehugger
For many years, Kristoffer Emanuelsson has dedicated himself to digging for treasures deep in the American folk music tradition. This has led to numerous inspiration residencies and tours in the US, starting in the Appalachian music mecca of Asheville, NC.
Treehugger performs solo with interpretations of new and old in American folk music, as well as self-written material influenced by folk, blues, oldtime and country. The common thread is good stories where storytelling takes center stage, performed with soulful vocals, open back banjo and guitar.
Nowadays he lives on and runs Vänna Gård in northern Dalsland, together with his family plus four rabbits, seven hens and a rooster.

Rookie Riot
These are the underdogs that are brought up playing in the street. Their home is in Haga and many people have enjoyed listening to them in almost all seasons, temperatures and weather. Rookie Riot is one of the major reasons The Haga Bluegrass Street Festival came to be. Emerging from being a beginner band to become one of the most well recognised bands within bluegrass in Sweden in just a few years, Rookie Riot will give you a high energy show. In 2023 Rookie Riot is invited to play at the biggest bluegrass Festival in Europe - La Roche in France, and after that they leave for a trip to USA. Their mix of traditional bluegrass with softer ballads and their own original material is well balanced and will leave you wanting more.
